GENRE Adult Fantasy, Adult Paranormal, Magic Fantasy
REVIEW: Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews is an Adult Fantasy (Mind out of the gutter!) about a woman named Kate Daniels who is a mercenary. The story takes place in the future where Magic and Tech exist and Magic is gaining the upper hand. Most of Atlanta, Georgia is in ruins from all the Magic waves and creature from old stories exist again.
Kate learned that her guardian, Greg, who is a Knight-diviner in the Guild, had been brutally killed. Being her last family member, Kate sets out to find who the killer was. She’s led on a path with betrayals, misunderstandings, and new people. Will she find the killer in time before they claim the next victim? Will she live to find out?
The book is apart of the Kate Daniels series and is Book 1.
I found this book to be an OK book. It definitely needed tweaking to keep it alive. There are some slow parts and much, much detail, which isn't necessarily a good thing! I enjoyed the scenes of passiveness but the action scenes were lost on me with all the detail. All the characters were rich and vibrant but the scenes were poorly described, leaving me confused. However, I plan to keep reading it as it has a cliffhanger...
